What Not To Do Before

While it’s important to follow a consistent oral hygiene routine, we don’t recommend excessive brushing before your appointment. While it may appear effective, excessive brushing can leave you at a higher risk of tooth or gum damage.
Instead, we recommend using a soft-bristled toothbrush and lightly brushing the back of your teeth and the surface of your tongue to remove any food particles. Gentle brushing beforehand will make it easier for our dentist to identify any problem spots that need attention.
We also encourage you to be as honest as possible about your dental symptoms, oral hygiene routine and diet so we can determine the best treatment needed for your case. Honest discussions with our dentist play an important part in identifying what preventative measures will work best for you in order to maintain good oral health.
