Top Invisalign FAQ
At Wyndham Dental, our new Invisalign patients are typically very excited and curious about what life is going to be like with their clear braces. We’ve compiled some of the most common FAQs for you to read through before your consultation!
How long do I need to wear Invisalign each day?
At least 20 hours per day, minimum. This gives you enough time to remove Invisalign when you eat, brush your teeth, or need to take them out for social situations.
How often do I change out my orthodontic trays?
Every two weeks. Don’t change them out any sooner! Doing so could damage your teeth.
Can I eat whatever I want?
Yes. Just be sure to remove your aligners during all meals, snacks, and if you’re drinking anything other than water.
How do I clean my aligners?
With a soft toothbrush, room temperature tap water, and if necessary, a non-abrasive toothpaste.
How old do you have to be to get Invisalign?
Invisalign is great for teens that have lost all of their primary (baby) teeth. There’s even a product line just for this age: Invisalign Teen.
Am I too old for Invisalign treatment?
No. It’s fairly common for mature adults to invest in Invisalign, so that they can finally have the smile they’ve always wanted.
How does Invisalign work?
Each clear aligner puts sight pressure on your teeth to nudge them into the correct position. As you progress from one set of aligners to the next, your teeth gradually move. There are no brackets or wires involved.
How much does Invisalign cost?
The fee for treatment varies from one person to the next, depending on your oral anatomy. We’re happy to provide you with an estimate at the time of your exam.
